Imaging Embedded Objects From 3D Inverse Scattering Using Finite Element Method

چکیده
This paper presents an image reconstruction algorithm for inverse scattering using the Finite Element Method in conjunction with a modified nonlinear least -squares technique. The modification involves grouping of dielectrics within shells and conditioning the correction terms, which improve the convergence process substantially. The technique is applied to detect objects embedded in a host dielectric.

Microwave Imaging of the Buried Dielectric Objects Based on Non-Radiating Subspace Reconstruction
Imaging of dielectric cylinders buried in a known inhomogeneous medium based on nonradiating (NR) current reconstruction is presented. For this, we use the finite element-boundary integral (FE-BI) method to formulate the scattering problem, then, we modify the subspace optimization method (SOM) by using sequential quadratic programming (SQP) for solving inverse scattering problem. Also the effe...

The inverse problem in 3D eddy current imaging is ill-posed and non-linear. The most commonly used image reconstruction algorithms for electrical imaging are based on a linear approximation (the Jacobian Matrix). We start with an initial conductivity distribution. The forward problem is solved and the predicted voltages compared with the calculated voltages from the Finite Element model. The co...
متن کاملGlobally convergent and adaptive finite element methods in imaging of buried objects from experimental backscattering radar measurements
We consider a two-stage numerical procedure for imaging of objects buried in dry sand using timedependent backscattering experimental radar measurements. These measurements are generated by a single point source of electric pulses and are collected using a microwave scattering facility which was built at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Our imaging problem is formulated as the inv...

Introduction: Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) is an imaging method in which light source and detector are installed on the head; consequently, re-emission of light from human skin contains information about cerebral hemodynamic alteration. The spatial probability distribution profile of photons penetrating tissue at a source spot, scattering into the tissue, and being released at ...
متن کاملInverse Identification of Circular Cavity in a 2D Object via Boundary Temperature Measurements Using Artificial Neural Network
In geometric inverse problems, it is assumed that some parts of domain boundaries are not accessible and geometric shape and dimensions of these parts cannot be measured directly. The aim of inverse geometry problems is to approximate the unknown boundary shape by conducting some experimental measurements on accessible surfaces. In the present paper, the artificial neural network is used to sol...
